Great place looks well inside and out food was excellent and quick delivered to us so we could start eating I will be definitely returning to here another day soon

Been eating here for almost 20 years, one of my favorite places with the best margaritas!

Nice atmosphere , great tasting food

Wonderful restaurant with delicious food! Our waitress, Raegan, was amazing! We were a little worried when we first pulled up to the restaurant and there was only one other car. So glad we decided to try it out! We definitely would have missed out on a great meal.

Service was pretty good. Portions are decent unless you like to eat plenty in which case not enough. Quality of food was good and one of the better restaurants in Hillsboro.

Don't order CFS at a Mexican restaurant. However the salad was great.

I don't recommend this place. Although the service is friendly and the ambiance is acceptable, the food and overall experience will leave you wanting. We were a big party, they had room but refused to sit us in one table, so we dined separately and giving our backs to each other. The food was just bad. The texture of the dishes is really questionable, they don't season the food at all, and the timing of the food is appalling. I ordered the fajitas for two, they brought the sides out and they got cold before they even brought the meat. The guacamole was stale and brown in parts, the sour cream was awful and it tasted rancid. The other dishes were not any better, some looked simply awful, and unapetizing, others were soggy or flavoless. The drinks were absolutely artificial, and I'm glad I didn't order any for myself. To top off a very disappointing experience, the prices are rather high. Just save yourself some strife and go somewhere else.

The service was courageous and prompt. The order was delivered hot, fresh, within a short wait, and very tasty. Clean restrooms. Greeted coming and thanked going out with friendly expressiveness.

Fajitas were out of site.lots of sweet onion. Huge side dish of cheese rice beans guacamole pico. Street tacos were good but a little toughChili conqueso was soooooo good and chips were good. Huge portions and great service.

Never Disappointed! I've been eating there for 30 years and they've Always been consistent! A true Hillsboro Landmark!

Food was great! I had crunchy tacos recommended by my son as the best. I must agree! My husband had the chicken fajitas he said they were very good. Our waitress took very good care of us. I recommend as a the best place in Hillsboro.

The food is great and so is the service. A very nice place all-around.

Taco cabana is as good and a lot cheaper don't get cascade it like a taco

My absolute favorite place to eat in Hillsboro. The Taco Rio dinner is AMAZING! Ask for Dooley's queso, you wont be disappointed

I told the guy at the front how popular the photos of the menu were that I posted to Google Maps. Ya know so folks can order out or decide if this is the place they wanna go. He says....."Yea I really don't care about stuff like that."Cool, I'll delete them.Food was good.Staff was excellent.

Very comfortable quick service food was hot and delish

The food was delicious and served fast even during the lunch rush. Highly recommended if you are looking for an appetizing Mexican restaurant. The salsa has the right amount of kick and chips stay piled high.

Great food, fast food.

I used to love El Conquistador but the food has become too generic. It lacks the flavor it used to have about 20 years ago. It could be worse, I have eaten at worst places.

Family lunch. Very good except ln my opinion too much chicken in the soup.

Came about a week ago after a funeral with family, they had us sitting in metal fold up chairs and fold up tables so it was very uncomfortable, they knew we would have a big group yet only had us 2 small tables so we had to set up more tables and chairs ourself which was extremely frustrating especially after a funeral. It then took a good 15 minutes for someone to come give us menus and take our drink orders,some of the table had to go to the bar for faster drink service. My food was good when we got it, but a few people had issues with the food and it was sent back so they didnt eat dinner with everyone else, they had to grab something else on our drive back home. Once done we had issues with the tickets, because they put random stuff on them that didnt belong to us. It was a huge mess and when notifed, the people at the front cussed,got rude and treated us very unfairly. We had been a few times but to have to deal with this following one of our hardest days, we will not return.

I love Mexican food and this is my favorite place to eat. Great environment. Great food. Good prices. The owners are almost always there and are great people.

They have this bowl of beans that has beef, onion, jalepeno and cheese and it's real good

I ate here 3 days in a row for lunch because I was working in Hillsboro. The food was great, service was impeccable, with a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The prices were comparable. The fajitas are higher than most restaurants but served on a sizzling skillet and more than I could eat. I will definitely go back!

We are on our way to San Marcos and we're hungry. We saw the billboard and exited. We were greeted immediately and taken to a booth. The chips were warm and the salsa was good! The service was great and our enchiladas were spot on! I had mine with quest cheese sauce and onions and the were excellent. My friend had the regular enchiladas and he cleaned his plate! We would come back here! The pralines at the checkout were great too!!! The restrooms were clean as well!!

Made a stop on our way home from a day in Waco & we will definitely be back! Atmosphere was great, service was quick & very friendly. Food was top notch... very authentic Mexican food!

I always eat chicken enchiladas they are awesome to me and always get the same thing not much for change awesome never seen anything like it

Always good. All about it is great. I have eaten at 100's of tex-mex joints and this one is as good as most plus you get that small town feel with the staff.

The place really showed promise. Very clean and friendly folks. But the food was so bland. Rice, beans, enchiladas, tacos, and chips were all bland. Considering everyone else's reviews here, maybe that is the way the locals like their Tex-Mex. Nice restroom.

Food was like going to a mom and pop Mexican food place but at least the menus didn’t have local advertisements. Service was mediocre with the waitress not remembering who ordered what and not knowing how much guacamole was in a small. Just seemed like she was the only one working and she was going to make sure everyone knew she was not pleased.

Family favorite. It’s the holidays & the kids are in. Everyone wants to go to El Con. Food is always great. Never had a bad waiter in 20 years. Compared to the large chain restaurants their prices are just fine. Ask for the Dooley’s sauce.

Good food, nice atmosphere

Mexican restaurants don't come any better than this one. The staff is always friendly and on point, food is top notch, Margaritas can't be beat!! From chicken fajitas to chicken fried steak it's ALL good on the menu!!

Service was great, especially for a group of 14 with half being kids. Food came out as quickly as expected, given how busy it was. Our server was great. She helped quickly with every need we had. She kept our drinks filled and the chips and salsa flowing while waiting on the entrees. Prices are very reasonable. Their green/hot salsa is HOT, but their standard salsa is flavorful with the right amount of 'medium' heat to it.
